Stone Patio Workshop with Bill Parker

A skillfully crafted patio can become the focus of a design or the focal point of gathering in any landscape. While many courses deal with the latest trend of patio construction utilizing the many fabricated concrete products available to us in the current market, very little information or training is offered in natural stone patio installation.

Program Description

Please join us Saturday July 24th 9am-3pm for our latest workshop in our Artisan Series as we learn and practice our skills at patio building using natural stone. The workshop continues on with the design being created at the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden in Harvard, MA finishing off the hardscape work in the area that was started last fall with our Stone Wall workshop.

The workshop lead by Bill Parker of Parker Garden Design, will focus on the proper design, preparation and installation techniques for setting slab style Goshen stone to create a much needed natural patio for the back space. Attendees will walk away with the knowledge and confidence to create and incorporate these style patios into their future installations and designs.

William S. Parker is an accomplished veteran of the Design Build landscape profession and is the principal of Parker Garden Design located in Nashua, NH. He started his career in 1980 and has an extensive background in plant material knowledge, hardscape construction and project management and has been designing and installing landscapes throughout New England for close to 30 years.

So join us for a day of learning, hard work and a “ton” of fun!  Lunch is included with your registration.

All attendees will be required to sign a liability waiver in advance of participating.

Event Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel an event (program, workshop, or tour) registration and receive a partial refund by notifying us (by email) up to the time of the event. With such cancellations, a cancellation fee of 15% (with a minimum of $5.00) plus paypal processing fees will be deducted. Cancellations received after this time, or after the event will not be refunded. We regret that no refunds or credits can be given for events that are in progress or that you have not attended.

If registration numbers are insufficient, The Underground reserves the right to cancel a program. In this case a full refund will be issued. The Underground also reserves the right to modify this general cancellation and refund policy for a specific event as needed; any modifications will be announced with the details of that event.

Weather Cancellations

Program cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced in advance of the event (typically by email). If you think that your program may be cancelled please call us at 508-872-3792 to confirm.

If paying by check, make checks payable to The Underground and mail it along with a printed copy of your online registration form to the address below.

When you enter an Underground event (program, workshop or tour), you will be entering an area where photography, video and audio recording may occur.

By registering and attending the event, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on web sites, or any other purpose by The Underground and its affiliates and representatives. By attending and entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any exhibition, streaming, webcasting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibiting, broadcasting, webcasting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by The Underground or the person or entity designated to do so by The Underground.

You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.
